FAQs
Frequently asked questions
Can I run my air conditioner all night?
+
It depends on your battery size and conditions. Larger systems run longer — the report shows exactly what yours will do.
Why does runtime change?
+
Temperature, usage patterns and available sunlight all affect performance. We factor these in.
Do I need technical knowledge?
+
No. The report is designed for everyday caravan owners with clear visuals and plain-English explanations.
What upgrade helps the most?
+
In most setups, battery capacity gives the biggest improvement. Your report will show the best upgrade for you.
How many batteries do I need to run my caravan aircon overnight?
+
As a rough guide, a modern 2.4–3.5kW rooftop unit draws 60–110Ah per hour at 12V. To cover a hot Queensland night (8 hours) you're looking at 400–800Ah of usable lithium capacity, plus 400–800W of solar to recharge the next day. Your Off-Grid Report models your exact setup so you don't over- or under-spend on batteries.
Do I need an inverter to run a 240V rooftop aircon?
+
Yes — a pure sine wave inverter sized to the unit's soft-start surge, typically 2000–3000W continuous. Cheap modified sine or undersized inverters trip on startup or damage the compressor. We call out inverter suitability in the report.
Will running the aircon flatten my batteries too quickly?
+
Only if the system isn't sized for it. Set-and-forget aircon runtime comes from matching battery Ah, solar wattage, inverter capacity and the unit's real draw. The report shows the safe run window before you drop below 20% state of charge.
How long does it take to get the report?
+
Most reports are delivered as a PDF within 3–5 business days once we have your caravan and system details. Faster turnaround is available on request.
